Titel: Winsen (Aller)

Winsen (Aller)

Winsen (Aller) looks back over 1000 years of history. St. John’s Church, the Stechinelli Gate, the town hall, the trestle windmill and the Winsen Farm Museum bear witness to past times that yet still live on.
To this state-approved health resort also belong the old Heath villages Bannetze, Meißendorf, Stedden, Südwinsen, Thören, Walle and Wolthausen. Old traditional farms situated under old oak trees characterise these villages. Winsen (Aller) is surrounded by forests and heathland and has in the nature reserve Meißendorfer Teiche/Bannetzer Moor the largest lakeland area in the Luneburg Heath.
Visitors and guests may be active here in all seasons.
The Heath rivers Örtze and Aller invite one to partake in water sport activities. Canoeing on the river Örtze, motor boating and water skiing on the river Aller allow one to experience nature from a quite different angle. Those who prefer a more gentle activity, can relax while fishing.
The Hüttensee in Meißendorf is a popular meeting point for yachtsmen and surfers.
Those seeking adventure may well take advantage of the parachute grounds in Brunsiek and see Winsen from a bird’s eye view.
An indoor swimming pool and a heated outdoor swimming pool round off the facilities for active sport. For nature-lovers there are 170 km of hiking and cycle paths, which are well sign-posted, where they can enjoy the forest, the moors and the heathland or they can experience the partially unspoilt nature when they take part in a nature seminar at the NABU Academy at Gut Sunder.
