The handmade crafts market

The handimarket in and around Celler’s Palace. It has now become a tradition for the Tourist information office of Celle to organise the handimarket each year for Whitsun. Here, around 60 professional artists and shops are happy to display their wares all around Celle’s former ducal Palace. You will find a great variety of objects such as pottery and spins for decoration or everyday use in your house or home garden. If you are looking for gold or silver pieces of jewellery, precious or costume jewellery stones, wonderful vases, candles, balls or other objects made of glass in the style of Tiffany Work (Tiffany-Arbeiten), come and have a look, you’ll probably find something that suits you.

Walking a bit further, you’ll find silks and satin clothes dyed naturally with plant colours.
These items can be found in both children and adult sizes and may also be tried on right in the market.

Paintings are also readily available in this market.
You’ll even have the possibility of seeing the different artists at work. You’ll see them spinning, making pottery, glassblowing, weaving, as well as forging gold and silver or carving beautiful wooden forms in front of your eyes.
Among these you will then choose your favourite piece of work.
If you would like something specific that is not immediately available, feel free to let know the artist about it; he will certainly be able to fulfil your dream and turn your wish into reality.

Takes place during the Whitsun week.

This year from 22th of may till 24 th of may 2010.
