Historical forest smithy

In the forest smithy, 2 km south of Wietze-Wieckenberg, on the road ro Fuhrberg, iron ore found under the grass was processed to forgeable iron until the 16th century. Useless slug was thrown onto hills which today are covered sparsely with grass and are recognizable on the park-like grounds of the smithy as earth bumps. They bear witness to the times of forest smithies. Guided group tours by arrangement.
